News, Updates, and More at PQ

Greetings PQ friends!

We’re working hard at Poets’ Quarterly to put together our next issue. Before January, though, we’ll aim to keep this blog active and share essays and news along the way. Also, be sure to bookmark our Current Issue, where you'll always see the active list of our latest content.

There is certainly some big news around PQ

First, congratulations to our Reviews Coordinator, Tasha Cotter. Her first full-length poetry collection has been accepted for publication by Gold Wake Press. Way to go, Tasha!

Congrats are also in order for Joan Hanna. Her new book, Threads, is on its way from Finishing Line Press. Visit her website here for more info.

With good news, comes sad news. Please join us as we wish Joan Hanna all the best of success as she moves on as our former Managing Editor at PQ. Joan is embarking on some new opportunities and focusing on her new release, so we wish her our very best and thank her for her dedication and enthusiasm over her time here at PQ

We’re recently added a few new Contributing Editors to the PQ team: Dan Coffey, Ann Michael, Shauna Osborn, Felicia Elam, and Leya Burns. Get to know them through their bios on the Masthead page.

There’s one more important update, folks! We’ve amended the way you submit to PQ

The Submission Guidelines are the same, but you’ll now email each Department Editor directly for your reviews, interviews, essays, and blog contributions. Have a look at the Guidelines to know where to direct your queries and submissions. We hope this new method will streamline our communications here at PQ headquarters and help you with direct response from the appropriate Department Editors.

Remember, we’re always on the hunt for entertaining and insightful blog posts, so talk to Leslie if you have an idea!

Finally, by request, we’ve added a way for PQ supporters to make a $3 donation to help cover our web domain, email provider, and occasional postage costs. Our contributors and editors are unpaid so we spend very little on PQ, but if you’d like to donate a few bucks to offset office costs, you may now do so through Submittable. Thanks!

Thanks for your continued interest in Poets’ Quarterly. Like us on Facebook and stay tuned for more great content coming soon.

Kind regards,
Lori A. May
